Rock On?!

You may not think it, but I am a lover of a variety of music. When I was younger my tastes were a little wilder but now I’m older I appreciate the simpler pieces. I admit that I have a fondness for classical music but I also love a little Ed Sheeran. If you don’t know who he is then check him out on youtube. His music is really simple but bootiful. Bingo and Buddy prefer pop music and will do zoomies and popcorn like crazy if they hear any of the charts music. Shocking. They like Justin Bieber and Jedward. If you don’t know them I recommend you avoid googling or youtubing them. Ghastly music, utterly awful. Give me a concerto any day!

Nutty on the otherhand, is far more like me as I was at his age. He likes Muse, and older rock. His particular favourite though that has him squeaking at the moment is Bryan Adams Summer of 69′. Not sure why.

When I was a my rockiest I went through a phase of shaking myself and ruffling my fur up whenever I heard a piece of music I liked. Mummy called it my rock-pig-look and found a pigture of me in such a look from a few years ago.

Anyway, I want to know what your musical tastes are, and do the clash with other hoomans or furry creatures in your house? Have your tastes changed with age? Did you ever pretend to like style of music to fit in?

  1. That rock hair is awesome. I’m country all the way, because it’s what Mom loves. She controls the technology. I can’t figure out how anything works around here, on account of my tiny brain.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

    • You could try barking when you don’t like something ’til it changes to something you do like. That’s what whee did, or rather squeaked, and now Mummy is well trained! πŸ™‚

  2. Love the do, dude! My mom likes Bob Conrad, some of the stuff from the 50’s, and Floyd Cramer the pianist, so that’s what I like too. πŸ™‚ But we both enjoy the Sons of the Pioneers too! My tastes haven’t changed at all (I despise heavy metal and anything similar) and I just like to be myself. πŸ™‚
    Great post, Sir Nibbles!

    Woof,

  3. nice hair dude, sort’a looks a bit like ‘bed head’…MOL…I, personally, am a total ‘New Age’ kind’a cat…like Enya, Craig Chaquico, Neil Young, stuff like that…but then there is Mom! aiiiieeeeeyiyiyi…lady of the 60’s and 70’s…Jefferson Airplane, Bryan Adams, Doors, Rolling Stones, Mama’s and Papa’s, Bruce Springsteen, all the musice from the Movie “Good Morning Vietnam”…woo hoo…Mom rocked when she was at CAL in ’66-’68…proud of her too…ooopppsss…too much info, huh?

  4. You rock the rock look BOL.
My favourite songs are She Wolf by Shakira, Bark at the Moon by Ozzy, and Werewolves of London by Warren Zevron πŸ™‚

  5. Well Nibbles, I too am a classical music fan……my Mom listens to it when she’s painting or writing in her studio and since I’m usually there WITH her, I’ve become a big fan. I put my head up in the air, close my eyes, put my ears back and listen…..it makes me happy. I especially like Vivaldi. As for your hair – WAY WAY COOL MAN! That’s rock star hair if I ever saw it!

    • I am over the rock stage thankfully. Though I did work the look! Mummy is playing some classical violin music which I absolute love. I’ve settled down on Mummy’s lap to listen.

  6. How cute that you guys listen to music. My previous Dalmation used to react to music but non of my current animals pay any attention at all!

  7. Bella: I like ballads
DiDi: I like rock and roll

  8. We love that picture! You’re the cutest rock dude ever! πŸ˜€

  9. My parrots have very distinct musical tastes. They bob they’re heads to what they like and turn their backs to or scream at what they don’t like. Our oldest bird (around 28 years old) loves classic rock, a young bird likes country, and another likes very quiet and serene music. It’s hard to keep them in the same room if the music is on, because one of them always objects to what’s playing!

    Great pics!

  10. I love your rockin’ picture, Nibbles! It looks like you were head bangin’ to some good music! Taylor has been exposed to a lot of Duran Duran lately! My hubby bought their latest album, and has been playing it during every workout session in our living room every afternoon as Taylor watches him. πŸ˜‰

  11. I was having a cuddle today with Grannie (I guess she is grannie as my hooman mum is only five years old and Grannie is her mum) any way Grannie and I were sat on the hallway floor having a cuddle when someone called George Michael came on the radio. Grannie started singing along so I joined in and before we knew it Patch, Maple and Pecan were all singing too.
Not sure if any of us liked the redcord or if we were protesting about Grannies singing voice :o/
    love Murphy.

  12. Forgot to tell you! Ladybird, my cockatiel pal, likes the theme song to “Bonanza”, “Rawhide”, and “The Magnificent Seven”. She dances to David Rose and his orchestra too. πŸ™‚
