Mine Mine Mine Monday

For awhile now the hoomans have been under the mistaken impression that the sofa belongs to them. Then yesterday they got a super soft and snuggly throw to put on it and I decided there was no better time to make them understand.

So I chattered my teeth at Mummy’s Daddy and nibbled on his trousers till he got up. Then I rumbled at Mummy’s Mummy and tried to kill the magazine she was looking through till she moved to another chair. Finally, I hopped off Mummy’s lap and bit her hard on the thigh. She yelped and jumped to her feet. Before she even had time to scold me, I scurried to the middle of the sofa and settled down, proud of my victory!

I’m the King of the sofa!!

Mummy was not impressed by my clearly planned tactical assault but she did take some pigtures for evidence. I still say I did nothing wrong but she disagrees. Apparently I left teeth marks in the magazine and Mummy’s thigh but I deny it all! She was pretty grumpy about it for a good few hours.

She can’t stay mad at me for long though. I’m too cute!!

Have you ever done something furry naughty and put the hoomans in their place? Mummy says I might be the naughtiest piggy she’s ever had!

Happy Monday efurryone. Hope you have a great one whatever you are up to.

PiggiePigPigs Piglu Review

Beds are a big business. The place you snuggle to take a nap has to be perfect. Over the years Mummy has bought us a huge variety of beds from small dog beds, to Teddy Bear Factory toy dog beds, to home made cosy efforts. But now she thinks she has found the perfect guinea piggy bed.

Whee are here to put that to the test

Product – PiggiePigPigs Piglu in Stawberry Print

Product Description (From the website)

What is a Piglu? Why – it’s a Pet Iglu of course!

A Piglu is a cosy hideout for your small pet to chill out and take a nap! It would be great for most type of small pets! This design is usually most popular with Guinea Pigs and Rabbits 🙂 Please have a look at the dimensions to see if it would fit your pet.

The Piglu comes with 1 removeable fleece pad. These are made purely from fleece and soon we will be making spares so more can be ordered if you want 🙂

My Piglus are made from a patterned cotton outer, with a fleece as the inner (your pets will only be touching the fleece side for their nap and play times). The structure itself is made from sturdy foam to retain its shape.

Dimensions – Height: 8 inches / 20 centimetres approx.
Width: 12 inches / 30 centimetres approx.
Depth: 11 inches / 27 centimetres approx.

Here are some pigtures and a video of us testing the product!

Good Bits –

  • Big enough for two guinea pigs
  • Removable pad inside can be used as a lap pad for snuggling guinea pigs separately
  • Removable pad can easily be washed or replaced if soiled
  • Bright and cheery design and comes in a variety of fabrics
  • Sturdy and stands up to “destruct-o-pig” AKA Noah

Bad Bits –

  • Removable pad moves easily and Noah easily dragged it out after a few minutes. This could be fixed by placing Velcro to the bottom of the pad and the inside of the piglu

All in all whee give this product ten enthusiastic wheeks out of ten! If you want to purchase your very own piglu then please follow the links at the bottom of this blog post.

What’s your favourite bed or place to sleep?

Happy Sleepy Sunday efurryone

Seal The Deal

Mummy said of all the things she saw and did on holiday, one thing stood out. A trip to the beach for the day. But this wasn’t just any day out at the seaside . . . On the stretch of coast next to the village of Horsey is a place known as Horsey Dunes. This is a major wildlife site perhaps best known because of the huge numbers of grey seals on Horsey Beach.

Yes, Mummy visited a beach and was stunned to see some wild seals, up close and personal!!

The above pigture was a close as Mummy got but using the great zoom on her camera she could capture some closer portraits of these sweet creatures.

One little one made Mummy laugh as it posed in the water, only to be hit in the back by a huge wave!

Little moments like this inspire our Mummy so much. Mother Nature and animals are things whee can all love, appreciate and protect. She says she could have sat there all day and all night. If you want to find out more about the seals of Horsey you can take a look at the page Friends of Horsey Seals, which contains some brilliant facts. Did you know that around half of the world’s grey seal population is found in Britain?!

Do you have fascinating local wildlife? What’s you favourite piece of Mother Nature?

Have a great day efurryone

Victory!

Those of you who have been with us awhile may remember that last year, while on holiday, Mummy encountered something at a zoo which made her blood boil. She proceeded to make her feelings known and brought it up on here. The zoo was keeping rabbits and guinea pigs together, a recipe for disaster according to most knowledgeable vets, owners and those concerned with welfare.

So as the start of our campaign to get them to change whee emailed and shared what information whee could on here. Our first post dealt with Banham Zoo who had gained Mummy’s attention on the visit. Despite our best efforts, they insisted they were right and the local papers were not interested in helping us. Our next was a follow up with a comment from the RSPCA on why this was not a good idea.

IMG_2708Still Mummy did not get the answer she wanted from the zoo and everything went quiet. But following messages from local readers Mummy was tipped off and told to visit. What she saw meant she has not stopped grinning ever since.

The guinea pigs and rabbits are now in separate enclosures at Banham Zoo. Whee are absolutely thrilled that they have listened and taken steps to protect the animals in their care as recommended.

The  animals all looked happier and healthier and the guinea pigs were out running around for pigtures instead of cowering under hutches as they had on the previous visit. Three of them are pigtured, left, as they popcorned and made a piggy train round their enclosure when they heard a keeper arrive with their veggies!

It’s times like these whee can all share the sense of achievement in knowing that through our online ramblings whee made a real difference to the lives of animals.

A small step for that zoo, a massive leap for piggy kind!

What have you done today to make you feel proud? ^_^

Happy Tuesday efurryone

Noah Noms

Today I was thinking; what is my favourite noms? What does it take to be in my top ten noms?

In the end I decided parsley was the only thing I never got tired of and always squeaked for more. In second, grass, the green spaghetti of dreams! In third, our herbal forage mix. In fourth, dust free hay’s soft hay. In fifth, spinach. In sixth, cucumber! In seventh, carrots. In eighth, banana. In ninth, Wagg carrot stick treats. In tenth, Harringtons Guinea Pig Food.

So that sums up my favourite foods. What are yours?

Have a great Monday
