Hey Hey Happy Pigoween!

So Mummy is feeling better and has been pouring over the entries to our Pigoween Potion Poem Contest with us and the little hoomans. (who you squeaked to in the last post!)

After much deliberation (and snack breaks and arguing!) whee have chosen a winner. This poem was written by Carmeline, Lola, Mina and Lily the piggies with a small amount of help from their hooman slave! Whee are pretty sure you will agree this fab potion poem is a very deserving winner!

Blade of grass and root of beet,
Top of carrot, corn so sweet,
Hurry up! We need a treat,
Fill our bowl with things to eat.

Nice fresh grass and dandelion,
Picked by hand with dew still on ’em,
Crunchy pepper, green or red,
Come on, fill the bowl, we said.

Nice lush grass so tasty and green,
The biggest tomato we’ve ever seen,
A piece of fresh apple, to share between four,
Quickly our slave, we still want some more.

Lots more grass and celery stem,
A sizeable piece of banana skin,
Fill the bowl slave, you know what to do,
Feed us with love, for we do so love you!

Well bootiful ladypigs, firstly congratulations! Secondly, if you could drop our Mummy an email with your hutch address and with pigtures of each of you attached as jpegs, whee have a prize bundle to make up and send to you!

Have a great Pigoween efurryone. Why not tell us in the comments what you have been up to?!

Little Hoomans Helping Hand!

Hello efurryone. Well as you know Mummy was sick yesterday and unfortunately she isn’t well today either. So she has ordered the little hoomans to help us write this. As the little hoomans don’t really know how to work it whee are just going to give you a couple of pigtures of us that whee have entered in competitions this Pigoween.

If you have time please keep voting for Nutty in Sammy’s Pumpkin Contest and also you can vote for any of us in Misaki and Mollie’s Halloween Costume Contest.

Whee will be announcing the winners of our Pigoween Poem Competition tomorrow assuming Mummy is better.

Hope efurryone got through the Frankenstorm ok and whee will catch up on your blogs with Mummy as soon as she is feeling better.

Leave Our furFriends Alone Mean ‘Ol Frankenstorm!

Now whee were going to do a post about something completely different tonight but our Mummy has been ill with the flu all day and whee just didn’t have time to do it. Instead whee are going to do a post about the world famous Frankenstorm. First whee want to say to all our hooman and furfriends out there who are in the storms path; you are in our thoughts and whee are worried sick about you. As is our Mummy. Now you may or may not know that Mummy deals with strong emotions by writing poems or songs parodies. Well this storm is called Sandy so it has made her think of Sandy in the musical Grease. She wrote this version of ‘Sandra Dee’ from it and hopes it will cheer up those of you who are worrying us so much.

Basil is concerned and sends hugs!

Look at me, I’m the Frankenstorm-y,
Blowing all over your country,
Won’t go to away, ’til I’ve caused trouble today,
That’s just my way, call me Sandy!

Watch it! I’m whipping up winds now,
And stealing the lids off your bins now,
So many miles across,
No I don’t give a toss,
About what people will say.

I don’t stop (no)
Or pause (no)
I drop stuff all over your hair, woah! (eew)
I’m running out of steam surprisingly fast,

[[[Whee hope!]]]

(cough, cough, cough)
Keep your filthy forecasts,
Right out of my paths,
Would you pull that crap with Katrina?

As for you, weather men who,
Think you know what I’m gonna do,
You’re bound to be wrong,
And they’ll know before long,
I’ll be shortlived storm called ‘Sandy’

Stormchasers, just let me be!
Keep those instruments away from me!
Just keep your cool,
I’ve given you more days off school,
Don’t forget, that my full name’s Sandy!

Sandy: Are you making fun of me Kat?
Katrina: Some storms are so touchy!

.

Whee realise a storm is no laughing matter but whee hope whee cheered you up. For those who don’t know the song whee have put it at the bottom of this post. On a serious note whee hope all you animal lovers are following the boy scout motto and being prepared. Dogdaz has done a great post on being prepared which you should really check out. Particularly the first aid box contents listed in the comments.

If you have time please keep voting for Nutty in Sammy’s Pumpkin Contest and also you can vote for any of us in Misaki and Mollie’s Halloween Costume Contest.

Stay safe furfriends.

Mystery, Magic And ‘Munchkins’!

Well today has been a day of mystery, magic and munchkins! The mystery came with Mummy’s delivery of our veggie-troubles. There were no troubles. They just arrived before whee had time to ask for them. Run time on the floor was earlier too. And then our munchie hay rations arrived early too. Whee were highly suspicious! Between hungry mouthfuls whee demanded to know what was going on. Mummy explained about the clocks changing. (No, they aren’t putting on new clothes!) Of course whee mean the hour change. It had us most confuzzled at first!

Then came the magic. Mummy didn’t pay much attention to the blog or her emails today because she was playing with us, but just before tea time she sat down and checked. As if by magic our wonderful furfriends have begun producing genius poetic prose for our Pigoween Poem Contest. Please keep sending your entries and get them in before midnight (UK time) on 30th Spooktober!

My Entry!

Finally comes the munchkins! Today saw the start of voting in Sammy from One Spoiled Cat’s Pumpkin Contest. Of course I insisted on entering with my minature pumpkins called munchkins. Mummy said they were too cute to carve so she decorated them using the computermabob. Now whee don’t like to beg but please vote for Nutty! I am the last listed virtual carved pumpkin entry here. I will fight for furpersons right, and improve vegetable growth rates as well as renaming ‘Monday’, ‘Sunday-Mark-2’ so whee can have our hoomans at home longer and not have to worry about manic Mondays! That’s why you should vote for me!

Hope you are enjoying the lead up to Pigoween as much as whee are.

PIGoween Contest! – Food! Glorious Food!

Introducing the comPETition you have all been waiting for. Our final Spooktober Spectacular contest! This is definitely not what you might have imagined.

Rather than tell you about it first, whee are going to show you what my entry would be like! Here goes!

Buddy’s Brew!

Ear of corn,
And cabbage leaf,
Crunchy willow,
For my teeth.
Melon chunks,
And clementine,
Even though I,
Prefer tangerine.
Banana – mushed,
And parsnip sliced,
And cubes of pepper,
Freshly diced!
Spinach leaves,
And curly kale,
From the reduced counter,
What?! It was on sale!
Tomato, carrot,
Apple, pear,
All of it belongs in there.
Mix it up,
And stir it well,
Celery and cucumber,
Improve the smell.
No it’s not salad,
Or a strange face lotion,
It is my ‘Pet Food Poem Potion’!

Yes! Whee would like you furfriends to write us a poem about all your favourite foods going together to make a potion! What is more piggy for Pigoween than food?!

Your potion poem can be as long or short as you like. It can tell a story or read like a recipe. It can rhyme but doesn’t have to. Essentially do whatever you like! Entries must arrive by midnight (UK time) on Tuesday 30th October. You can enter by sending us an email to roominyourheartcampaign@yahoo.co.uk with the title ‘Pigoween Pet Food Potion’ as your subject. Please put the poem in the body of the email along with your name (or pets name) and what type of animal you are. If you have a blog please include that in the message.

There will be one winner and one runner up each recieving a mystery prize. (It is such a mystery whee don’t even know what it is! Mummy is being very tight lipped. Maybe it’s cos’ whee blabbed the prizes early last time?! Oops!)

So what are you waiting for? Start bubbling and boiling up trouble in your kitchens. Whee cannot wait to hear from you.

Now in an effort to be less wordy and more wordless whee are simply going to say. Comment your captions and the winner will be announced in tomorrows post. Again, if there are two good entries whee may include a runner up.

Anywho, what to do think I am saying or doing in this pigture?!

Piggy-Sized Pigoween Pumpkins!

Hey, what has Mummy got over there?!

*Gasps* It’s some pumpkins!

But wait! Aren’t they rather small?!

Or maybe I’m really big?! Have I had a growing potion this Pigoween?!

Oh, they are called ‘Munchkins’. Does that mean ‘mini-pumpkins’ or ‘monster-piggy-on-a-pumpkin’?!

Hope you are enjoying the days leading up to Pigoween efurryone. And don’t forget to get your hoomans to watch out for these Munchkins. They are piggy-sized and PAWesome! Whee are currently trying to decide how to decorate ours for Sammy’s Pumpkin Contest. (check that out if you haven’t already!) And whee are chosing our outfits for Misaki and Mollie’s Costume Contest. (check those post links out too!) Oooo the excitment is almost too much to bear!

How are you all preparing? Are you entering either contest?

Small Furry Farmer?!

Today whee were discussing the Harvest Festival because the little hoomans have to take tinned food in to donate to the poor. Mumny was explaining that the Harvest Festival celebrates the harvesting of crops by farmers everywhere when I realised something . . . I want to be a FARMER!

Who know vegetables, better than I do?
Who eats them, better than I do?
Who wakes up ridiculously early, better than I do?
Who can make a miniature wooden tractor look better than I do?!

Do you think I could be a good farmer? Would you like to be or are any of you farmers? I bet I would win an award for my farming. They might even need to make one especially for me. Small Furry Farmer of the Year! Yeah, I like the sound of that!
