My My, What Big Teeth You Have!

Well as you can see the blog is a work in progress. Mummy helped us put stars and space as a background as that is where our original pigtures appeared to have been lost! Tehehehe. Whee have tired ourselves out working to fix that as you can see from this adorable piggy pigture of me!

Whee thought whee would give you a little technical know-how by telling you about piggy teeth. Things you probably didn’t know:

  • basil teethWhee have 20 teeth in total, but the only ones you can see are the 4 incisors at the front of our mouths. (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom.) These are used for gnawing and biting our food.
  • The rest of the teeth are in the back of the mouth. They are called molars, and these do all the chewing. Whee piggies chew with a side-to-side movement, and can make up to 200 of these movements every minute! Yup, whee love munching!
  • Our teeth are known as open-rooted, which basically means they grow all the time, but with all that eating and chewing they are constantly being worn down.
  • Mummy says this is why hay is so important. It is the best at wearing down our teeth – and it tastes brillant too!

So there you are. Are you feeling enlightened? Bet you didn’t know this before you clicked on our blog!

Have a great Monday efurryone!
