Seal The Deal
Mummy said of all the things she saw and did on holiday, one thing stood out. A trip to the beach for the day. But this wasn’t just any day out at the seaside . . . On the stretch of coast next to the village of Horsey is a place known as Horsey Dunes. This is a major wildlife site perhaps best known because of the huge numbers of grey seals on Horsey Beach.
Yes, Mummy visited a beach and was stunned to see some wild seals, up close and personal!!
The above pigture was a close as Mummy got but using the great zoom on her camera she could capture some closer portraits of these sweet creatures.
One little one made Mummy laugh as it posed in the water, only to be hit in the back by a huge wave!
Little moments like this inspire our Mummy so much. Mother Nature and animals are things whee can all love, appreciate and protect. She says she could have sat there all day and all night. If you want to find out more about the seals of Horsey you can take a look at the page Friends of Horsey Seals, which contains some brilliant facts. Did you know that around half of the world’s grey seal population is found in Britain?!
Do you have fascinating local wildlife? What’s you favourite piece of Mother Nature?
Have a great day efurryone

Your mum is so lucky to have seen them!
She felt furry lucky but apparently they are often on that beach!

My Mom has always loved seals……How wonderful that your Mum got to see them up close in their element instead of in a zoo! They are lovely creatures…..
Hugs, Sammy
After seeing them on the beach, seeing a pair in the zoo was pretty upsetting for Mummy. They just didn’t seem as happy as the one’s she saw frolicking in the waves!
She’s furry proud of the photos she managed to get though.

It’s great to have that there is local wildlife you can just sit and watch isn’t it?! She was furry proud of her pigtures and said the seals were completely unbothered by her and the few other people with cameras which was lucky!

Thanks so much. Whee were really proud of them!

False advertising-where are the horses? They should have called the place Sealy.
Hehehe whee think the village was there before the seal chose to stop there!

So cool! We got a chance to see some seals in California. Eko was so confused, it was hilarious.
They are very cute but confusing creatures!

We get to see possums, lizards, snakes, foxes, and alligators. Many years ago, I saw walking catfish on the road. We live near the beach, but have never been to the beach.
Wow that sounds like some interesting wildlife. Whee haven’t been to the beach either but Mummy says it’s fun!
xxxx
Heheh love image 2321. That little face. :3 We don’t have a lot of wildlife here.
Ummm.. deer! But that’s more in Holland. Or well there’s this park right next to our appartment, where people go dump their rabbits (not cool) however, that resulted in a little version of bunny island (very cool)!
Mummy loves deer. She saw a wild one when she was on holiday but they are very hard to spot!
xxxx
It’s great to see them so close, I bet your momma will never forget this fabulous adventure!
She said it was great fun and she took lots of pigtures to remember it by!

When we lived in Germany, my mom and Katie actually found a stranded baby seal on the beach. They had to call the appropriate people to have it taken to a special place that raises seals. Katie said it was pretty cool.
Mummy wanted to visit the nearby seal sanctuary where they take the baby seals that are abandoned or sick but they spent so long on the beach they didn’t have time!
It’s great that your Mummy helped that baby seal ^_^
