Buddy and the Baking Betrayl

It is not often that a hooman betrays you. They are usually very good at catering to your every wheek. But sometimes a hooman does things, a hooman never should.

Like make mini gluten free carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting late one evening, with carrots that rightfully belong to her half-starved, certainly-not-overweight piggies.

*sigh* Here is the evidence of her betrayal.

Then to add insult to injury she proceeded to make a large pumpkin cake with cinnamon frosting too.

What are whee going to do with her?! Whee wheeked our most ear piercing (nearly make your ears bleed) squeaks for a good half an hour and now whee are refusing to squeak to her. The cold shoulder hooman . . . How does it feel?!

  1. Love the hat so cute πŸ™‚

  2. Oh the horror!!! How could she betray her piggy boys like that? Well, something tells me you all get plenty of treats for yourselves, so if your hoomans from time to time make treats for themselves – well – it should be alright with you!! LOVE the hat…….that’s a SUPER Hallo-wheek portrait if ever there was one!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

    • Hehehe Mummy says she thinks it’s one of the best pigtures of me because I held the pose till I heard the camera click and then got bored and tossed the hat on the floor so she didn’t get many!

  3. Oh, you poor, poor piggy boys!! I’m sure after a little while of that cold shoulder treatment, she’ll give all of you an extra SPECIAL treat!
    Love, Sundae

  4. You guys need your own special treats to make up for that.

  5. I hope it works quickly on your mom , not that your cold shoulder will turn into an icy shoulder :o)
I want one of those cupcakes ….

  6. Oh they look so delicious!! I am sure mum could at least get you on taste testing!!! poor babies….life is unfair indeed..i am baking some lemon and blueberry friands if you are interested πŸ˜‰ hugs to you starving babies Fozziemum xxxx

  7. Oh no not your carrots. The scandal of it. How could she????? The cold paw is def needed. She gotta learn they are YOUR CARROTS. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  8. We think some hooman should be going to the grocery store IMMEDIATELY. But mom thinks she should be wrapping up those cupcakes and cake and sending them to her. On another subject: The hat is adorable on you. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  9. You should sneak up on the table and eat your fair share! Woooowoooooo!

  10. Num, both favourites of mine! I can’t resist that frosting. Your cute wittle lips must have been watering the whole time, mine sure are. I’m not sure mummy should get the cold shoulder for too long, maybe she saved you some carrot peels?

  11. She stole YOUR stuff?? Why doesn’t she get her own?? That’s dishonest and lazy at the same time.

  12. I have the right punishment. Send her this way so she can bake her way into freedom.
You should give me the recipe of that pumpkin cake, I meant it!

    • Hehehe whee will order Mummy to type up the recipe as punishment!

      300g self-raising flour
      300g light muscovado sugar
      3 tsp mixed spice
      2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
      175g sultanas
      Β½ tsp salt
      4 eggs, beaten
      200g butter, melted
      zest 1 orange
      1 tbsp orange juice
500g (peeled weight) pumpkin or butternut squash flesh, grated

Heat oven to 180C gas mark 4. Butter and line your tin with baking parchment.

Put the flour, sugar, spice, bicarbonate of soda, sultanas and salt into a large bowl and stir together.

Beat the eggs into the melted butter, stir in the orange zest and juice, then mix with the dry ingredients till combined.

      Then stir in the pumpkin.

Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 30 mins, or until golden and springy to the touch.

Then frost it however you like! It’s really simple and it tastes sooo good according to the hoomans.

If you make it, whee want to see the results!

It’d doesn’t seem to difficult, baking is not one thing I’m good at it, but I try.
I’ll surely give it a shot, I have all the ingredients at home.

  13. Judy & C.A.T.S.

The nerve of the hoomanz using your carrots for their food. Our Mom said the cupcakes look delicious. That pumpkin cake looks awesome too. She wishes she could just reach through the monitor and take a big slice of cake and grab a couple of cupcakes. Love Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)

  14. Oh no! Maybe she made something extra special for you and hasn’t revealed it just yet? Surely, you will get a Howl-o-ween treat next week! By the way, you should wear that adorable hat to our Howl-o-ween Pawty on our blog! Much love, The Scottie Mom.

  18. Oh my goodness, those cakes look scrumptious! Now I’m craving them too! Yes I agree, our humans sometimes use foods that are rightfully ours for their own enjoyment. Don’t they have enough already?! They can get everything they want! My humans eat my carrots, apples, and steaks too – right in front of me!! Hmph!

  19. Put the recipes up, they look delicious Nom NOM XXXOOXXX

Mummy can’t find the book for the carrot cake recipe but it was just a simple gluten free carrot cake mix divided up and baked for 20 minutes

If you make it, whee want to see the results!

  20. Sorry boys but these sound very yummy,xx Rachel

  21. Naughty mummy. Our Mummy says whee need admitting to the spinach addiction clinic as whee aren’t eating much of our other veggies anymore. She’s very ungrateful as whee got her into eating spinach and she didn’t like it before. It’s good for Mummy and she says she feels much better because she is eating it – Whee feel wheektastic when we eat spinach and so of course whee want to eat more of it. Mummy doesn’t understand our logic but whee know how intelligent whee are. Mummy says we need a variety of foods for our health to be good. She has to add Rosemary to her pan whilst cooking spinach as she doesn’t like the taste otherwise. We like to go au natural.

    • Our Mummy said whee were getting addicted to spinach too (whee don’t think it’s possible!) but she changed it for curly kale one day and whee loved that too so now she alternates which whee get ^_^

      • There should be an SACFG – Spinach Addiction Clinic For Guineapigs. I spoke to the vet this morning about Cinnamon before his check-up tomorrow following his surgery. The vet suggested Kale. He still eats spring greens too.
