Green Thumbs Thursday!
As Mummy has just pointed out whee does not has thumbs to be green but that is beside the point. Today in the garden whee noticed something. Mummy is a truly terrible gardener but somehow some things in our garden have survived. Here is out garden so far.
Whee started with three tomato plants, one basil plant, one curled parsley plant and one cucumber plant.
The cucumber was nicknamed the unlucky cucumber as it was repeatedly dropped and Mummy believed it was DOA (dead on arrival). Within days it had vanished. It’s vanishing was blamed on notorious criminal slugs and snails reported to be operating in the area, however, imagine efurryones surprise when whee found a weak looking little stalk today:
The basil plant was rather more unlucky and died pretty quickly when Mummy forgot to water in during the hot days. There is nothing left to pigture!
The curled parsley plant might have been over nommed and under watered because it doesn’t really look too well!
Finally the good news! One set of plants are doing well! Whee will be having tomatoes furry furry soon!
Also, Mummy’s apple tree which has done nothing for two years has suddenly decided to give her a baby apple this year! Hooray!
Does you have a garden? How’s your garden doing? Is your hooman a horticulture disaster or green fingered fabulous?
Happy Thursday

Our mum loves her garden as you can see from our recent posts. Gets you out in the fresh air and we moggies love sharing the garden with the humans as we should all be free outside (Especially if sunny). Oh no Henry has just brought home another bird we had better go and praise him and sort it out LOve Archie xxx
Whee love being in the garden too. It’s fun giggling at Mummy as she destroys yet another piece of innocent vegetation!

Your mum sounds as good as my typist, although she has done well with Basil this year!
Hehehe, Mummy just really can’t get the hang of this! She says piggies are much easier because whee wouldn’t let her forget to water us!

perhaps she should put them in your cage then you could remind her? BOL
I have a farm, planted corn, melons and pumpkins. I’m hoping to get some decent turnout before Halloween.
The tomatoes look yummy.
Show off! π
Mummy hopes that she will eventually learn to grow things but so far there is a lot of enthusiasm and nothing to really show for it!

We had tons of rain this year. The fruit trees and berry bushes did well but a lot of other things didn’t do as well as expected. Looks like your Mummy will have to buy you fresh treats at the grocery store instead of getting stuff out of the garden.
Luckily the nice people at a local farm shop and in the Saturday markets know how to grow fruits and veggies so at least whee won’t starve!

Yup, we have tomatoes, asparagus, eggplant and tomatoes to go along with our scorching hot peppers. We have to have them in elevated pots otherwise the bunnies reap the harvest.
Whee don’t have bunnies round here but the neighbors cats and the squirrels and foxes have a field day digging up the flower beds!
Sounds like you really have green fingers!

Wow a baby apple. Last year we had ONE pear (it was rotten, but it was a real one). We have not one tomato this year, the plant was not even flowering, think we have black thumbs :o)
Hmmm maybe whee need to send our pawrents and your pawrents on a gardening course?! ^_^

I feel sorry in advance for the teacher – but maybe they could bring your baby apple for him?

No garden here. We have some flowers in pots but that is about it.
The one’s in pots seem to do worst in our garden! At least you can keep pots going. Mummy can’t even do that!

Oh no piggies! Maybe she’ll do better next year lol. I am decent with the gardening because I come from a gardening family. They own a nursery and sell plants. The property that I live on has 5 greenhouses, and several tree lots and shaded areas with plants to sell. We have lots of apples this year as well as tomatoes, parsley, other herbs (no basil which is a shame because I like to cook with it), peppers of all kinds, lemons, limes, pomegranites… even though the plants are to sell, we still pick the fruit hehe.
You’ve had help! Whee are going to get some books and be better next time!

Your tomatoes are beautiful. Maybe you can serve them at Buddy’s Boutique Bistro. My mommy loves the garden, and I have to say that I am a pretty good gardening assistant. Well, I keep her company, anyway. Our summers get really, really hot and miserable, so gardening hasn’t been much fun lately, but we are looking forward to cooler temperatures in a few weeks and Mommy and I will be back out there together.
Whee think Mummy might have to do some research so she knows how to actually look after plants!

Molly Sue and Annabelle say their humans are growing a dalhia and that is all and it is barely hanging on.
Mummy says you should talk to plants to help them grow. Maybe tell the hoomans to have a little gossip with it?! ^_^

We have some plants! But they are untidy and sometimes the human doesn’t water them so they dry up. Donna is not allowed near the plants because they are posionous to dogs! D: We don’t grow fruit or vegetable since the human is not the greatest gardener and fears she may end up frowing poisonous food π Haha! But so glad your tomatoes are doing fine and pretty π
Mummy tried flowers but she says lots of naughty weeds keep coming and getting in the way. Whee are helping by eating the naughty dandelions. They are tasty!

wow, well done to your mummy. Our garden is a wreck! Mummy blames me but its her and the weather and the evil birdies BOL
Our Mummy tries to blame efurryone else too! Clearly it is the hoomans fault!

Tomatoes are yummy. Your mom did fine with that! We only have a couple of flower pots that Mom is able to keep alive. Happily, lots of her friends give us goodies from their gardens.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Whee need some green fingered furfriends to teach Mummy and give us goodies too!
